Not ClamWin, CLAMMAIL
I don't use ClamWin, which is a scanner. I use ClamMail, which is the automated email sniffer.

It installs on your system as a pop proxy; when you dl your mail, it checks each one and rejects any that are tainted.

And it updates about as often as you want (I think I have mine set to update once per hour or whenever I first turn on the computer whichever comes first).

The ClamAV database is updated much faster than "commercial" dbs, at least according to ClamAV's documentation.
