Non-sequitur and circular arguments
You state "Anti-Spyware programs are a necessity" in your last
paragraph but in your first you demand proof that Microsoft is
forcing you to buy something. You disproved your own claim.
Since Microsoft insists on releasing an insecure operating
system, they are indeed focing its customers to make the
additional purchase of security software.

Of, course MS should make their systems more secure. If these
purchase help them with that goal, good for them. That,
however, is not my point. They intend on chaging the customer
extra for protection - because that's the way it has always been.

The problme here is that Microsoft has not heretofore been the
vendor of security software. They are now in the unique
position of selling BOTH the sickness AND the cure. This is a
new and unique perversion of their market.

You said yourself that Linux and OS X are much more secure OS
platforms. It follows from this that OS'es can be made more
secure and that Microsoft is either unable to so do or unwilling
to do so. Thus, the public should be made aware of either
Microsoft's incompetence or that Microsoft is subjecting the
public to artificially maintained poor security in order to increase
profits.
