There is a method involved:

They sell you the first product and then a second to protect you from the first.

And then drop products that run on other OS's. But you don't HAVE to buy MS products do you.

The Dilbert concept of paying your programmers a reward to fix bugs is working well within MS. All they need do is raise the final price of the product(s).
