Is there method in Microsoft's security buys?
Is there a method? Thats a simple yes. Microsoft wants to make their software more secure, and it has over the last few years. Every time a patch is put out for a flaw that has been discovered, thats adding more security to Windows.

Their purchases will prove what they are up to. Could be technologies going into ISA servers, or they may just leave the companies alone and let them be and Microsoft just wants to collect on the income from these companies. Either way I see it as only being a good thing that Microsoft is taking security seriously. Its good for the company and its good for the customers. Once again Microsoft is in a win-win situation.
