Hence the push to DVDA and SACD
The "Industry" wants to kill the insecure CD as a distribution medium. I agree with you, I want high quality as well as portablility. AAC and WMA are fine for good PC speakers but do not meet the test for my uses with high fidelity sound equipment. DVDA and SACD both sound outstanding and are allegedly copy proof. So it is AAC and WMA for those who care little for quality and worse yet, portablity. Those who care will have to hunt for those elusive DVDA and SACD disks. And I like iTunes but won't buy a lot unless they offer shn, flac or vorbis encoding -- lossless compression. Quality matters to me and I am happy to pay for it.
