Commercial Service
Commercial service isn't available to everyone. We live in the sticks of Colorado. I'm thankful for the dial-up service we have because nothing else is available. Why??? Because according to the PTB we live to far out for them to be profitable in giving us anything other then dial-up.

so rather then deciding that everyone else is clueless why not be a bit more tolerant.

Not every home user is without a clue. I have and run anti-spyware, virus, etc 2x day. I never shut my computer down until all the scans are completed.

Maybe alot of home users are frustrated because they don't know who to trust. I used to use Norton (updated and ran the program along with spyware every day BEFORE I shut down) and then they decided they were too good to allow us the people buying their product to be allowed to contact them and my computer froze up due to massive virus infiltration. So I got the computer cleaned up ($100) now I use McAfee. I update my definitions everyday rather then waiting until I'm notified. Most home users don't want to be clueless but often the answers are not as clear as they could be.

I refer people to the Dummies books when they have computer problems (I belong to many online groups) so they can learn to take care of themselves since for most of them $100 can mean eating or not eating for that month. Sorry to run on but it burns me when people assume (and we all know what assume means) that home users are somehow not as good as others using the web.
