Rights are eroding right now as we speak
"happen to agree with most of what he does, as does more than half of the country. People have been whining about "loss of rights" over such things as the Patriot Act, yet no credible evidence of anyone (legal citizens) losing ANY real rights. I'm not talking about what someone perceieves as a right, but actual constitutional rights."

Actions show beliefs,
The patriot act is under heavy review and for good reason. I'm sorry but no matter how scared you may be, you can't disregard due process. It is a SERIOUS problem. If you can't see that freedom is being eroded, then you don't want to see it. It is clear to most people that freedoms are dissapearing. Everything is being moved toward regulation, and tracking, and assuming we're all criminals before we're even accused of anything. See the problem is noone cares until they are affected and it is just that type of careless attitude that is causing this to happen. We're writing laws to govern laws, it is getting crazy. Saying the administration is trustworthy without questioning what they do is stupid and careless and counter what the framers of the constitution believed in.

The only "horrible trend" is pacifist attitude to just assume that the government will follow the rules. It would be nice if we all lived in candyland but not here. I'm not anti-war or anything else, I'm against the warping of the constitution to fit the rules of the interpreter. This is not a document to be interpreted, it is written IN STONE. There is nothing to decipher. It was written clearly. I am simply against the warping of our founding fathers ideas and the regulation of everything we do and everywhere we go. This guy has shown through his actions that

"Stu Baker often stood on the other side of important national debates on protecting privacy and preserving open government."

Plain and simple, there is nothing more important than these ideals, if you compromise them, we are in big big trouble.
