but how...
Mac did an ok job in doing the sudo su thing to temporarily elevate priv's, and to a lesser extent XP, however this is just another meaningless to the user step in installing a piece of malware. I guarantee you that a typical user of OS X doesn?t think twice before elevating priv's, and obviosly the user refused to learn enough to protect themselves so how do we?

Panda Antivirus is taking it in the right direction with its true prevent stuff. Kinda rudimentary @ this point, and the idea isn't new, but they are actually doing it and it work pretty well. But we need this @ the OS layer for all systems.

P.S. True Prevent is program behavioral analysis hinda like heuristics except for running code, oh and it works well, without a significant performance hit, unlike heuristic scans.
