Consequences

All platform have flaws. Whipping it out and claiming to win the
technical peeing contest does little to change the user's reality
however. Non technical users can choose a platform that is
plagued with 140,000 viruses, or they can choose 0 viruses with
OSX. This is about consequences and not vulnerabilities. The
consequences of using a PC include restricting your access to
the internet, running a plethora of anti spyware programs, and a
general high level of paranoia.

The next PC argument is inevitably the marketshare. It's the last
gasp of an out-engineered paradigm. Apple will gain viruses as
the market share increases? We have a long way to go to reach
140,000 so I'll take that bet. Are Mac users complacent about
security? Perhaps. Perhaps we just enjoy the luxury of computer
use.

To try and make a case for Windows by saying these problems
are being reduced is simply a declaration of impotence. You've
been abused for years and codependance is now the order of the
day.

My issue is with this hypocracy and the reality of the user
experience. The user deserves better. They deserve better
advocacy as well.
