I think y'all missed the point...
The problem is not the users. Today's users are typically overloaded with information management tasks and finicky, hard-to-use software makes mistakes and lapses in understanding much more likely to occur.

The wake up call should be to the document software vendors: make your software do what the user thinks it is going to do with the fewest number of clicks, and make it truly WYSIWYG, so that nothing is hidden in the code.
