Hogwash
"(you know, maximize shareholder value?)"
wink, wink - you know what I mean. Line the pockets of executives.

You are obviously not a business analyst, professional, which is ok, so I am sorry to be the one to have to tell you this... Enron, Tyco,... The things executives resort to, with public stocks, to show success where there is none.

SOX may be putting on a burden, but it's not like this happened yesterday. Y2K also put a burden on corporations but it couldn't be wished away. I believe EDS, and the others are complaining about SOX to have some of the requirements lifted - why else would this be reported.

Reducing some of the excessive executive payolas will contribute to both increased security and SOX implementation without affecting shareholder value; but that would be like stipping Iraq from Saddam Hussein, and we would have none of that, would we - unless it's handed over to characters likes Chalabi and Allawi.
