Yes, Craig Barrett, you DO have that obligation, because.....
quoting from the previous poster:

Intel CEO Craig Barrett has a different view: "If you ask does Intel have an obligation to suffer a financial disadvantage to hire more American employees, as opposed to Indian employees or Chinese employees, that's like asking does Intel have an obligation to California, as opposed to Oregon or Washington or Nevada or Colorado."

Craig's comparing apples to oranges here..... one state to another is irrelevant.

But Intel DOES in fact have an obligation to suffer a financial disadvantage. That is simply the cost of being an American company.

Why? Because Intel gets certain, concrete benefits from being an American company. In exchange for this, Intel should pay US salaries to US workers.

If Intel really wants to outsource, they can move out of the US entirely. Then they will NOT have ANY of the legal protections that being an American company offers.

You want 100% free market? Well, then there's no Intellectual Property protection, no patent protection, and so forth. Then you can spend all your money on R&D while someone else then copies your design and undercuts your price.

Then wonder if maybe being a US company and paying US-level wages might not have been a good bargain after all.
