Internet Taxes
Election year or not, it's nice to hear some politicians taking a stand against new Internet taxes.

Unfortunately, the state bureaucrats that already tax us six ways from Sunday can't get it through their heads that maybe they should try spending less instead of taxing everyone to death (and of course this is also true of federal bureaucrats).

Many people think that those who want to reduce taxes on business must necessarily be rich Republicans. They don't seem to understand that every tax on businesses like telecoms and ISPs means higher prices for everyone?rich or poor?who must buy these companies' products and services. Excess profits may not "trickle down" to the lower economic strata as Reagan Republicans would have us believe, but excess expenses damn well do!

Enough is enough! It's time the bureaucrats learn that just because something CAN be taxed doesn't mean it SHOULD be taxed. They also need to learn that unlimited taxation on everyone and everything in sight is not their god-given right.

I might also add that the massive taxes levied on individuals and businesses are one of the primary reasons why wages and prices are so high in this country that businesses feel they must go offshore for materials and labor to survive.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this kind of economic insanity is leading us straight down the path to third world nation status.
