How do you prove this "friendliness"?
An article/post I read last week (?) stated that this change was done previous to any negotiations being tabled.
You said yourself that there is no real "regulations" as this is in it's infancy, so who says that the application should of had the original default it utilized and not the one currently rendered?.
Everyone wants so much control over these things, yet when it is freely returned they complain.
It goes back to PAYING ATTENTION. Malware producers count on targets getting lax, and following routines blindly.

Don't get me wrong, I hate Malware, but users are ultimately responsible for what is on their PC's and should pay more attention and not count on someone to blindly lead them down a path, especially when it pertains to our favorite oxymoron ..... Microsoft Security!
