And then there's paying bills online, filing tax returns, checking your bank statements etc etc. But if you feel that it's too risky to do any of these things using Windows and I.E. then who am I to argue?

And can you please describe *how* you feel Linux's security model "gets in the way", because I've been using Linux as my desktop for over 8 years and your statement is absurd. Not only that, but my parents also use a Linux desktop and have no difficulty using the machine either!

Could it be that you're just bad-mouthing everything in an attempt to start a flame-war??? Hmmmm.... wink.
