not that simple
What if i cut off your credit and you have your morgage pull from the card. Say you never get the message about the card being compromised cause your on a year long trip to indonesia(sp?) Now i just caused your house to be forclosed on while you were away. Thats a lawsuit waiting to happen. Regardless if you win or not, its still a lawsuit.

Now this is an extreme example of what could go wrong with your statement, but in this world anything possible.

Hell how about this example: The person who had their card frozen has their insurance auto-pay from it because they dont want them to have acces to their bank account. Now that insurance doesnt get paid, the house burns down and there was no insurance on it.

I think people should be notified and given the opportunity to change cards but not have it forced on them.

I can say that i pay four very minor bills from my cc, if it got canceled, its not a big deal, even if i never was notified. These bills are different every time so its hard to pay them via billpay and i dont trust them with access to my BA.
