Cert chain validation only checks CRLs for expired certs?
That's what it sounds like...

That would be very bad, since only unexpired certs are supposed to show up on a CRL, that being what it's for; you check the CRL to see if it's revoked only if it's not expired!

What gives, Symantec...? or Microsoft... or whoever...?
