I pity the victims... they're just caught in the crossfire.
But many corporate actions over the last few years have destroyed my ability to really care about their "plight" in these situations. And not just because they willfully use known-buggy/holey software that just openly welcomes hackers with open arms and a plate of cookies and milk.

Corporations are out there to make money, period. They typically don't consider moral or ethical considerations. They are not loyal to the country(countries) they are housed in, the country's economic well being, nor their citizens. Not when there's a dollar in profit to be made. Microsoft is a prime example, though I could easily name many.

In short, I can only pity the consumers hurt by the Sasser virus. I can't pity the author, who probably created it to spite a system that's even more hurtful. He'll get what he deserves.

So when will Ken Lay and other worms like him get what they deserve, which should be what the sasser boy got multiplied by a thousand million?
