I Couldn't Agree More!
Lets hope that this clown doesn't wind up being offered a high-paying job instead. I have been saying this for years now--these people are criminals, and International ones at that. Isn't there some kind of law that governs international communications? Because that is what the Internet is, and our PCs are the means by which we are able to access the world, so to speak. To me that's an international crime and as most such crimes are, extremely serious and the penalty should be to lock them up and throw away the key.

Consider the damages that can (and have) been done to businesses and government facilities. I don't think any government today takes these people seriously enough. That's because they don't understand the problem as I'll bet most of our Congress couldn't even log on and get email. These rich folks have underlings even do that for them. Bet if it happened to one of them we would finally see a serious attempt by a number of governments to track down, prosecute and severely punish these offenders.

It is not a game. Damages can run into the millions. A whole software industry has sprung up just to offer protection against these crooks that have never been taken seriously enough.

Lock 'em up without any access to a PC, even to play games. And for those crooks who think that if they can demonstrate their expertise at creating world-wide havoc will get them a cushiony job with the government (it was in a magazine article last year) think again. The government will drain his/her brain of knowledge and then that person will conveniently "disappear".

Sorry for the rant but the whole thing has never been addressed as it should have been from the very beginning.
