For Those Who Must Use Windows...
If you've crashed & need to re-format your HD, Upgrade to a newer version of Windows.
Make sure that you load your Antivirus S/W and run Live Update to the most current virus/worm definitions. Then load your Firewall S/W before you DL your Critical Updates, etc. from Windows Update.
After that's all done, run Trojan Detecting" S/W, e.g. SpyBot S&D, Anti-Trojan 5.5 (I particularly like Anti-Trojan 5.5 because it is easy to use, scans all 65,000 ports, tells what ports are open & possible open Trojan ports. You can also scan the registry and your hard drive for "Suspicious Files".) + run a good "spyware" program.
If all is OK, then load your regular h/w, s/w, apps, etc.
That's what I did when I had to reformat my HD. I also have one particular Web site for e mail SPAM.
I made a "mail rule" in Outlook Express that if the message has an attachment, to delete from server.
I use Yahoo Mail for SPAM, also most of my e mail addresses are in my Yahoo Mail address book. Not my Outlook address book!
I've been fine ever since & that was over 2 years ago when I had to reformat my HD happy

Peace Out From Canada eh! - TRBitch
