re: strange rationalization ???
Actually markashton, I am not an MS basher at all, I only speak from experiences that I have had personally with MS software.

I am not making strange rationalizations to make myself feel better. I could really care less whose software I use but I do want the software that is secure and not have to worry about - worms, viruses, adware, spyware etc.

The difference is - on my dual boot system when I run Linux and I find out Mozilla has a security hole(the application not the os) I just uninstall Mozilla and install another or update Mozilla ... With MS and IE I cant uninstall it and it is so chaulk full of holes and vulnerabilities that it isnt even funny. The updates MS sends out works 1/2 of the time and occasionally causes the entire system to crash--- I cant uninstall messenger, I the spyware named media player.... that would be the difference.

Personally I have nothing against MS and I would still use their software for everthing if it wasnt for all of the holes, but unfortunatly MS is focused more on profit than on product... what their executives need to realize is that without a good product ... well eventually people figure out that your selling crap and stop buying it.

Your point markashton would be comparable to you telling me that you bought two brands of pizza pops one gave you food poisoning and the other was good .... my reply if I were as intelligent as you then ... well you really didnt get food poisoning your just making broad rationalizations to make your sell feel better about spending twice as much...come on man
