Windows is the virus, Linux is the cure
Without applications the machine makes a good door stop or a poor space heater but that's it.

Breaching an application in *nix is only the first step in compromising a machine, then you have to figure out how to elevate your permissions. That can range from easy to next to impossible depending on the sploit. In Windows it's the only step. Breaching an application is owning the box.

No one with any experience in the industry, outside of MS, would ever suggest Windows is more secure than Linux. Windows is pretty much the security screen door on any network.
