Tech savvy?
Anybody that sees a problem with this isn't being "tech savvy", he is just being tech-ignorant. I can't BELIEVE that people pretending to be technical see a problem with hardware protection of memory. Glad you guys weren't doing posts like this when the 286 and 386 came around we'd really all be in the dark ages (Real Mode) then. What makes OSs stable these days is the fact that they are using protected memory schemes, implemented in hardware. Go read a good book on CPUs!

Common on. A feature that prevents the CPU or triggers an exception when out-of-bounds memory written to is an unmitigated awesome feature. It will probably make everything more stable. Less applications crashing due to run-away CPUs.

This has nothing to do with DRM and as far as I can tell any mention of DRM or any other conspiracy in this context, is just trolling by tech wanna-bees!

Microsoft's memory management probably has to be modified to take advantage of the feature.

I'm still curious though, how would you protect the stack or is that virtualized on a windows system too?
