Good move by the chipmakers ... finally.
Hardware protection against buffer overflows is long, long, overdue. This should have been done years ago. Buffer overflow exploits target ALL operating systems. They need to be stopped at the hardware level. There is no sane reason that hardware should be expected to execute obviously malformed instructions. This is fantastic news! I'm for it 100%! Bring it on!
