The way I see it...
The problem actually is more related to the server a person connects to than tho the browser used, stating this otherwise is just plain stupid and just shows a sensationalist point of view just to create panic, not awareness... This is plain lame.

The real problem here is actually how secure are the servers you connect to, they could get hacked to incorporate such javascript popu-ps in their html code and casue this problem... Saying that this is a browser's problem is as ignorant as saying that since you could get on fire while being at a gas station, you should change your car... The problem is not the car, is the gas station if it permits a person to bring a flame source like cigarette, matches or a lighter.
