And so what should they do

Exactly how would they go about patching this exploit. It's not really a flaw in the software it's just something that a person can do with Javascript. The exploit can be done on pretty much any browser, not just IE.

It's as if you said "Microsoft should patch Outlook to stop all of those eBay and Bank of America phishing e-mails I get." How would you patch against something that's really just exploiting human ignorance.
