Some work arounds

Basically, I try to simulate a credit history.

I regularly charge something that I could otherwise pay cash for to maintain some credit history on the card. I've also taken out small loans and paid them back using a method that eliminates paying the interest too. The credit card also has an option to bump up the credit limit when requested.

CC companies thrive because people have more wants than they have money. Debt is necessary and not even bad, but not when its abused.
