Wrong, really wrong data

I can't imagine where Fujikid gets such wrong information about
the Mac OS and Apple policies. One of the huge benefits of Mac
has always been backward compatibility--I'm still occasionally
using a 10 year old app on my G5 OSX system, while my PC
friends complain about being forced to upgrade 2 year old apps
to make them run at all on recent versions of Windows.

It should be obvious to all, except perhaps Fujikid, that Apple
advertises rather widely when they introduce a new OS, like OSX
or the current Tiger version--and they are certainly available
without buying a new computer. Actualy, Apple is on about an
18 month OS cycle, and they meet their published dates--
dramatically unlike MS, as in the incredibly long-awaited
Longhorn. Apple interim updates are and have always been free;
major updates are sold for a reasonable fee and have never been
"every six months or less."

I won't even address Fujikid's silly "vastly overpriced" comment,
except to point out that real comparisons consistently show that
even Dell charges more for a truly comparable system, especially
for the power systems like G5s.

Fujikid, buy the OS you like, but get the facts before you put
down others. What ARE you afraid of?
