A lot more than MAC

Linux I can understand but I don't uderstand how anyone with a MAC can have the gall to complain about MS.

MS deal with the problem of providing OSs that support thousands of different hardware configurations and software written by just about anyone who feels like picking up a PC. All MS OSs can be run on most legacy and new machines. Anyone can build a PC so hardware costs are low. It's not surprising they've had a few security problems whilst maturing their products. Despite this apart from the new OSs once every 3 or 4 years, all updates are FREE.

Apple on the other hand have total monopoly control over the harware and their OS. They don't provide backwards compatibility so new OSs won't run on older machines, new machines won't run older OSs. No one else can make the machines so they don't have to deal with the unknown. This gives them a vastly reduced complexity benefit. Every couple of years they release a new OS on new hardware. The loyal fashion addicted sheep who use their products have to buy the new vastly over priced machine to use the new OS. In reward for their blind loyalty they're charged for new updates every 6 months or less!
