That's one heck of a breach of security...

Where are the safeguards? These private organizations need to put security above profiteering. Especially when we consumers have to clean up the mess that ID thieves make; and from experience that's no happy chore. So forgive me but I am angry.

And what is Equifax doing, giving out access codes and passwords to its customers? These aren't cookie recipes. It's confidental information. I think there's a big difference. They apparently don't.

Worst of all, don't put the burden of cleaning up your messes onto us via subscription plans (the first year is free and then sit back and roll in dough as people forget to cancel or really like the service) because you're so filthy cheap and sloppy as to who you allow use your access codes you seem to freely give out. You fix the problem and YOU take some responsibility. Isn't this supposed to be an "ownership society" or something to that effect? I refuse to be 'owned' because you're not taking responsibility in what you own.

And on a tangent, just where are the servers housed? Oh yeah, India. I gathered that a lot of customer data resides over there because it's CHEAPER. (fewer safeguards, fewer safeguarding laws, much cheaper staff to exploit...)
