What a bunch of bullsh*t!
"Any trade barriers created by the United States in an attempt to avoid global competition could lead to retaliation from our trading partners and even an all-out trade war--resulting in a drag on the global economy and reduced employment here at home," the report stated."

Oh nice, corporations are now threatening the government with deliberate sabatoge and intentional loss of employment for US workers. Thanks a lot!

"U.S. companies operate abroad to be close to global customers, both geographically and culturally, and to meet round-the-clock expectations for customer service," the report noted."

Losely translated, this means "We want a higher profit margin." They could care less about customer service, since their major market is Americans who can't understand the foreigner customer service rep's accent to even explain a problem.

"A growing number of workers in these foreign countries and companies are highly educated, skilled and talented--a competitive challenge in their own right," the report said. "Americans who think that foreign workers are no match for U.S. workers in knowledge, skills and creativity are mistaken."

No one is calling Indians lesser educated than Americans. Granted, they're harder to understand, given the accent. This has nothing to do with the level of education, it's about money. They can equal us in intelligence, but they can afford to work cheaper and that's what the real story is about. Corporations are looking to make more profit, the bottom dollar. They can color it as sensible as they want, but that's the real objective.

Recently, I found myself in an email confrontation with an Indian concerning American outsourcing. The subject was about the type of software he was developing (spyware). But the subject turned to outsourcing, since an American had hired him to develope this type of software. Here are portions of his response:

"let me just say that you guys would not be
outsourcing if you had the brains to do it yourself"

"I know I'm good at my job and am not scared
that someone who's paid less will take it away. So if you think you are
better, so be it. Sit there, gloat about how good you are while you
twiddle your thumbs. If you want to
make some money, get a job."

Most of his email didn't make much sense, only that he seemed to have a sense of superiority over Americans and that Indians are being given American jobs because of their higher intelligence, not their lower wage expectations. Mind you, this is the software writing company who created the program ClientMan. Do a search on ClientMan if you're not familiar with it before anyone responds to this post.
