Fixes in for critical IE, Windows flaws

The exploit news is not released until.....

either a fix is found or the time between the discovery by independent sources and the agreed upon time to release news of the flaw. In other words, security company XYZ discovers a flaw in a program that is exploitable, and because of an agreement between the company and maybe MS, they agree to a two month period before release of discovery news.

At the end of the two month period, which is there to enable the company to repair/fix the issue, the discovery company makes the announcement so as to warn/take credit for the discovery. Hopefully, the writer of the program has made good with the fix and all is well in the wonderful world of coding. BUT, if they didn't get it done then all hell should break loose.

Personally, the attacks on companies that have made repairs to their product such as the constant drumbeat of the OSS crowd really gets old. It is like trying to sue the manufacturer of your car for fixing a flaw that is revealed. Mean while a Bazillion of these cars have been tooling around for years and then a flaw is found and repaired before a "maybe" possible situation may arise. So the recall is done, no charge, no harm and the consumer starts screaming about how insecure their car is.
Sheesh.

Perhaps, a few of the screaming crowd should take a couple of chill pills and start chasing butterflies and relax.
