I think security on the internet can be guaranteed ... with lots and lots of user awareness."

Any solution that requires "lots of user awareness" is doomed to failure. The fact that 90% of the world's Windows computers are infected with something is evidence of that. The average user is clueless.

When has any corporation gone on record saying it is better that you do not use the product of what is, in effect, their biggest customer? I don't know of it ever happening.

So the president of Intel saying that you are safer NOT using a Windows, is IMO, indication that it is game over on MS security.
