Nope, none.
"Unix terminals are not used by home users just to browse and check emails"[/i"

Mac OS X and the slew of Linux PCs out there say you're off-base on that one.

"Doing the same thing for an OS that's intended for home use (novice users), can end up in lot of frustration"

Not at all. OS X does not even have the root account enabled by default, yet administering a Mac OS X box is easy - even for non-administrative accounts (you can install software by supplying an administrator login and password).

"Would it mean, I have to log off and log in as administrator just to change my home page?"

No. With Linux you can have several simultaneous logins, with OS X you have fast user switching. Both allow an easy switch between logins (though Linux has better support for multiple logged on users).

"I think security on the internet can be guaranteed with a combination of a good, secure browser (Firefox, Netscape 8) with lots and lots of user awareness."

I think history proves you wrong. There is no such thing as a "good, secure browser". The Geko-based browsers have their fair share of security issues too, nothing is perfect. Even less likely is that all net surfers will obtain "lots and lots of ... awareness".
