Sounds like M$
and just as proprietary. Many config files in /etc are renamed and format-changed. DEB packages may be "better" than RPM, but they are a fork.

If I wanted to re-do UNIX from scratch, and had a "better" idea - I would support Debian. But tradition - good or bad, makes for familiarity - something Debian strives to avoid . . .
