Debian drops ball on security updates

I don't think too many newbies will be installing Debian at the moment. And anyone who knows debian will set this file up as in the instructions.

Not sure what the problem is here, the news story is a bit short on detail.
Is it (1) the sources file doesn't work out of the box [big deal, you're supposed to change this to your local mirrors on install].
(2) there is no cron job doing apt-get update.
[you wouldn't necessarily want this in any case
by default].

Either way, move along, nothing to see here.
(yawn).
