I agree, don't any of you ,quote, IT Pros, unquote, remember when Operating Systems were part of the machine, and burnt onto ROM chips? The OS is meant to do ONE job. That job is to integrate the software into a smooth-running, reliable tool. It is NOT designed to be a hackers paradise and create a whole new industry whose only purpose is to fix the corruption of a few immature, pencil necked geeks who are still getting payback for all the wedgies they had to endure in school. Grow up geeks, the rest of us have, well, sorta.... Back to the topic, tho, As long as we allow the giants to serve us swiss cheese software, calling it operating systems, they'll keep pumping the OS's out. They should have spent that year developing a ROM based OS. For the newbie(and you guys are glaringly obvious) ROM used to stand for "Read Only Memory". Some of our favorite old video games were ROM based, cuz they were ready to market before they were put into the market place. Beta testing used to take place BEFORE you could buy it at the store. (gets down off soap box and crawls back into hole in the wall)
