MP3 is dying
Its a 10 year old technology. MP3Pro is the replacement to MP3. But it has very strict licensing. AAC is an open-standard format owned by the MPEG consortium. WMA is a proprietary format owned totally by Microsoft. Ogg Vorbis is an open-source format with no patent or licensing roadblocks. Its my preferred format. Unfortunately my iPod doesn't recognize it. I urge everyone to write the hardware manufacturers and insist on Ogg Vorbis compatability.
