RIM has had this function since release v4. Microsoft is just playing catch up.

As far as admins wiping your device to remove information your manager does not want you to have... unless you are some really small shop, all your emails and such are backed up on tape and no IT manager worth squat is going to have backup tapes sent in from the remote storage and remove information from it without calling up HR and even then, I would refuse to do it myself. Enron and WorldCom changed how business is done.
