There is so much garbage in your post I hardly know where to start, but here goes:
Are you suggesting that you run your favorite OS without the use of a firewall, antivirus utilities, etc? There have certainly been attacks against both MacOS and Linux, though admittedly far fewer than MS. Seems like you're playing with fire to me. And by the way, the subject of this article, anti-spyware tools, are freely available (as in no charge to the user) from the internet. There is also a large variety of free software firewall tools available for Windows. So where is the financial hemorrhage
you referred to?
Then you mention that Windows offers minimal value. Huh? I defy you to find even 10% of the functionality of Windows applications in any other OS. There is a virtual endless variety of software applications including the best business applications (yes, I am referring to the reviled MS Office), educational software, special interest apps (such as gardening, home design) and entertainment. Frankly, I derive exceptional value from my investment in the Windows OS.
Finally you mention the "constantly failing" OS. That must be your own personal problem. I can't even remember the last time my OS failed (Windows XP at home and Windows 2000 at the office).
