Too bad they had to take the system offline though
And anyway this isn't an MS software problem persay. It's an admin problem. They were unpatched systems. This could have happened just as easily on Linux, Solaris, or BSD if they were unpatched. But since it was Microsoft admins who screwed up this time I wouldn't be heaping praise on MS in general, and I certainly would not praise them for "proactive security measures" since taking a system offline due to an attempted attack is clearly a reactive security measure.
