Domain Registrations are a Farce!
"jfalknor" obviously hasn't done many "whois" searces in the past year or so!
IMHO, one of the worst decisions of ICANN was taking away the exclusive domain registration authority from a single organization, Network Solutions (which kept reasonably accurate and up-to-date data), and fragmenting it among over
one hundred seventy-five different "registrars" of all levels of compliance and honesty.
Some do follow the rules, but many others, like Joker.com, Gandi SARL, and Xin Net. Corp.
totally ignore them, and the registration data is totally bogus, or has no usable contact addresses.
And what is this nonsense of the supposed contact email addresses being at yahoo.com or other generic coverup layer rather than within the same ISP?
[For those unfamiliar with the registration concepts, here's a very informative page (with thanks to Web Architechs web-arch.com): http://www.web-arch.com/domains.php3]
Then there are the persistently open relays that allow all this junk to reach us in the first place,
like every domain in Korea, Mexico & Brazil, (it seems),
There can be no effective enforcement of anti-child porn laws (or quackery, or any other scams & spam) until the domain registration contact information is required to be accurate, complete, up-to-date, and *functional*, and the registrars *required* to maintain this accuracy or lose their authority and forfeit all registration fees.
