My ISP doesn't allow SMTP
I can send out on Port 25 as is. If want to I need to buy another package. The home user package is not set to act as a server, webserver or what ever.

Still I can act as SMTP server using an alternate port but how useful is that for sending spam and viruses.

Another thing my ISP does is they give an ADSL Modem/router that has limited firewall abilities. You get the modem/router free if you stay with the ISP for 3 years or you can buy it for $199 which prorated over the 3 years if you cancel at any time. Pretty smart move. Also they provide anti-virus software and secuity scanning software that a tech can use to help secure you PC if you allow it.
