What's the matter ?
I am French from Quebec. And I think this article is pretty pointless and offending. Why does it matter to you that the French use a word like courriel instead of e-mail ? E-mail is not a trademark like Frigidaire or Kleenex. You're free to use e-mail instead of courriel and who cares, as long as it's in your language and it means something to you. I want the same freedom. Besides, your conclusion is rather insulting for French Canadians. The word courriel come from l'Office qu?b?cois de la langue fran?aise the host of one of the greatest French online dictionnary www.oqlf.gouv.qc.ca and not from the street like you suggest in your article. Vive la diff?rence !
