Depends on what "systems" you're talking about. I'd say most tanks & missiles have their own custom software. The military has also repeatedly toyed with the idea of using Linux.

And they've practically banned hotmail on their own comptuers (because hotmail used to be and probably still is quite hackable) and use their own custom and secure mail systems. They have to, more people try to hack the military than anybody else.

So they're not exactly on best terms with Microsoft right now . . .
