...only indicates the platform that www.stanford.edu runs on. It's unreasonable to extropolate that to the compromised systems.

Simply put there's not enough information to ascertain which platform was compromised. The fact that the parent immediately based Microsoft demonstrates the level of maturity by the anti-Microsoft fanboi's.
