Yes it is!
Theres another Microsoft virus designed to sabotage Windows 98. After the last Windows update I did my computers with W98 started acting all buggy. I found that the update was making a file called C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KB891711\KB891711.EXE which was being loaded as a service. I disabled that file on all my W98 machines and they have been running fine since.

I'd like to find out more about the one that disables the CD drive upon installing W98. I wanted to take XP off of my laptop and install 98 but the CD drive would stop working.

Of course, we all know all too well that the FTC is going to do nothing about this, except use it as an excuse to take more bribe money from M$.
