Paranoia??? Update the drivers
We've all come across these issues in the past... works in DOS, won't run Windows. In my case it was fancy IBM drives with sector addressing in memory rather than the physical platters. Incomaptibility between board, windows, and HDD... different disk and all ok.

Course it'll work in Linux cos it's essentially a step up from DOS, with add-ons to run GUIs etc... a bit like win 3.1 with more bells'n'whistles and security thrown in.

Remember our engineering motto. Simple failures cause major problems... so look for simple fixes first!
