Wait a minute. There is a double-standard afoot.

If this case didn't involve kiddie porn (which is disgusting, no argument from me), would the court have given a different verdict?

Porn or not, once it's allowed for one thing it'll be allowed for others. Never mind individuals vs corporations, and only the naive would think we're all equals... (we're an oligarchic plutocracy. Those with money get the treatment; the rest of us must comply. Sort of a fascist state for the highest bidders...)

Macrobug Winbloat Shorthorn (name changed to protect the lazy) operating system, for example, will be full of DRM (digital rights malarky) and other "trusted computing" nonsense. Of course, it's trusted for corporations who don't want ethical whistleblowers raining on their parades.

I dunno. How many more laws are going to be created (or bypassed to allow double-standards) before people give up in disgust?
