Security updates not accessible?
Do I read the article correctly? That by the middle of this year security updates are no longer accessible to non-genuine software?
The industry is still trying to educate the general public to install virus checks, firewalls and to obtain security updates! Now Microsoft is saying it will not provide security updates! Will MS be comfortable with millions of compromised systems spewing out viruses, DOS attacks, Trojans, etc. at the 'legit' computing community? If the virus developers are smart they'll check for the same WGA imprint - if it exists, burrow. If not, attack.
I agree with notion of limiting 'extra' software downloads - but to put the whole Internet at jeopardy is foolish.
